The legendary punk rock band is back

Mach Pelican were a punk rock band formed in Perth, Australia in 1996. In 1998, they relocated to Melbourne, Australia. They announced their farewell tour in July 2007, and played their final show in Tokyo, Japan on September 17, 2007.

The band was formed by three Japanese students who were studying English in Perth in 1996. After touring extensively, Mach Pelican moved to Melbourne in 1998.

In eleven years, Mach Pelican played 800 shows, touring with bands such as The Buzzcocks, Radio Birdman, Rancid, The Hard Ons, Butthole Surfers, Guitar Wolf, Supersnazz, The Donnas, You Am I, The Spazzys and The Porkers.

2006 was a huge year for the three crazy rockers with their 10 year anniversary, release of their third studio album Radio Action on newly formed label Bop Records, touring Japan, as well as their non stop coast-to-coast shows across Australia.

Mach Pelican opened the 2006 Falls Festival in Lorne to a crowd of over 15,000 attendees. The band also played at half time in the 2007 Community Cup in St Kilda to a crowd of over 20,000 spectators.

ASAMI

ASAMI_0.jpg

Born in Tokyo and raised in Melbourne, Asami is a singer-songwriter with an unmistakable voice. Her music is replete with memories of life, love and everything in between, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sia, Ben Harper and Karen O to create timeless and playful pop tunes.

Asami first connected with her band members (Ranald Raimundo, James Douglas and Andrew Verrall) three years ago. What began as a side project has culminated in a transformation of Asami’s sound to suit the big stage. Asami and the band have spent the last year performing, studying, recording and honing their skills to create an effortless sound combining elements of acoustic pop, folk and indie music.

Asami describes her music as “hopeful and intuitive” and never hesitates to create beautiful melodies from simple chord progressions and basic instrumentation. Being one of the few Asian-Australian artists in the Melbourne scene today, Asami is a name that is hard to miss. Already drawing attention from Melbourne booking agents and promoters, Asami is set to take full advantage of the boundless opportunities that the industry has to offer.

The Welingtons - Song For Kim

Melbourne Australia’s The Wellingtons are one of the hardest working independent bands on the globe. They’ve released 3 albums through labels in Japan, Spain, U.K, U.S.A and Australia, touring all those countries and more, some twice over. In the process they’ve founded a faithful fan base world wide that includes members of bands like Motion City Soundtrack, Fountains of Wayne and The Posies to name a few.
